Podgorica Introduces Smart Energy Management System in Public Buildings
Montenegro's capital has launched a pilot project to install smart energy management systems in 15 public buildings, expected to reduce energy consumption by 25–35 percent.
The Municipality of Podgorica, in partnership with Norwegian company Entra AS, has launched a pilot project to install Building Management Systems (BMS) in 15 public buildings, including schools, kindergartens and administrative buildings.
The system enables real-time monitoring of electricity, heating and cooling consumption, and automatic adjustment of parameters depending on room occupancy and weather conditions. Initial analysis shows energy savings of 25 to 35 percent are achievable.
