EU Funds for Green Transition — Montenegro Can Receive EUR 180 Million by 2027

Under the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA III) and the Economic and Investment Plan for the Western Balkans, significant funds are available to Montenegro for green transition and climate action.

The European Union has made available to Montenegro approximately EUR 180 million for the 2024–2027 period under the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans. These funds are intended to finance projects in energy efficiency, renewable energy, waste management and biodiversity protection.

The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Ecology jointly coordinate access to these funds. Priority areas include: renovation of public buildings for improved energy efficiency, construction of wastewater treatment plants, recultivation of illegal landfills and protection of national parks.
